A Shipley residents’ group is taking its first steps towards creating a nature garden with the help of social housing group Incommunities.
Staff in Incommunities’ regeneration green team joined members of Hirst Wood Regeneration Group to clear brambles and overgrown areas at a canal side plot at the bottom of Hirst Lane – and they will return soon to help thin out some of the sapling trees around the site.
Bradford Council also took away rubbish, bottles and cans collected from the site leaving it clear for residents wanting to carry out planting, create a pond, seating areas, bird hide and pathways.
