A Bradford-based accountancy firm has revealed its pride at sponsoring a category in the city’s One in a Million awards.
Watson Buckle put its name to the Arts Young Person of the Year prize, which was won by 15-year-old Connor Moore.
Susan Sedgwick, managing partner at Watson Buckle, presented Connor with his award alongside actor and singer Tom Milner.
Mrs Sedgwick said: “As a Bradford firm we are always keen to support local charities, so were delighted to sponsor a category at this inspirational awards evening.
“One in a Million does great work with disadvantaged children in Bradford and surrounding areas, providing education through sport, art and enterprise.
“It was a pleasure to present Connor with his award for the focus he has put into his music studies at the Scholemoor Community Centre.”
Connor developed a passion for music at the Scholemoor estate Community Centre. He was nominated for the award by Tori Lord, who delivers One in a Million’s community music technology programme.
One in a Million was started in 2006 by a group of volunteers. The charity provides various community-based projects in eight centres across the city.
