Two works by David Hockney, which have never been on sale before, are expected to fetch more than £250,000 in total when they go under the hammer at an auction in London.
The first painting, titled Room with a View, is described as a boldly-coloured work depicting Bridlington and is expected to fetch between £150,000 to £200,000. The other is the more mysterious and abstract Tyger, which is expected to sell for between £40,000 and £60,000.
Penny Day, Bonham’s director of Modern British and Irish art, said: “Both works are of contrasting date and style, presenting an exciting opportunity for collectors”.
The sale takes place on May 28.
