A special half-term event encouraging children to think more closely about the food they eat will be held in Bradford on Friday, February 28.
The day, hosted at Bradford Council’s Good Food Advice stall in the Oastler Market, between 11am and 2pm, will consist of food-based activities for children and adults, including making your own smoothies on a pedal-powered smoothie bike and having a go at milking a model cow. There will also be the opportunity to watch cookery demonstrations, find out about what to pack in your school lunch box, and sample some healthy and tasty food.
Councillor Val Slater (pictured) said: “What better way to enjoy the half-term than by taking part in these activities and learning how best to enjoy food in a healthy way.”
The Good Food Advice stall, which opened last year as part of the Bradford District Food Strategy, aims to support local sourcing of food and encourage healthy eating.
