Health chiefs have carried out repairs to ensure patients were not affected after lead was taken from the roof of Shipley Hospital.
Police said they were called to reports of burglary at an address in Kirkgate, Shipley, and lead flashing was found to have been taken from the roof.
Inspector Hugh Robinson, of the Shipley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “A 32-year-old man was charged with theft and inquiries into the incident remain ongoing. Some lead has also been recovered and this is being examined.”
Any witnesses to the incident, which took place at 2.26am last Tuesday, are asked to contact police on 101.
A spokesman for NHS Property Services said: “We have effected temporary repairs to the roof so that services are not disrupted. Lead is no longer used for this purpose.”
