A huge cycling-themed community event is to be held in Bradford’s Peel Park this summer.
The event, called Peel’s on Wheels, is designed to build excitement ahead of the Tour de France’s arrival in Yorkshire.
BMX taster sessions, free bike loans, a treasure hunt around the park and a guided cycle ride will all be on offer.
The cycling day will be held on June 22, before the Tour de France’s Grand Depart visits the district on July 5 and 6.
It is being organised by a steering group of Bradford Council officers and representatives of BMX Bandits, the Bradford East Cycling Club and British Cycling.
The event will be discussed at a meeting of the Bradford East area committee on Tuesday at 6pm in City Hall.
