Airedale Hospital’s stroke ward has received a cash boost.
The £475 was raised through a sponsored swim challenge at Craven pool, Skipton, initiated by the then-chairman of Craven Council, Chris Harbron.
A cheque for the same amount has also gone to Parkinson’s UK. The 2014 swim challenge is now under way at the Craven pool.
People can choose to cover six, 12 or 24 miles during the three-month event.
Proceeds this year will go to Airedale Hospital’s Accident and Emergency department.
