A 52-year-old chef from Skipton has been ordered to pay £270 in fines and costs for assault by beating of his partner.

Kevin Knight pleaded guilty to assaulting Wendy Knight at their home in Branch Road, Skipton, at an earlier hearing of Skipton Magistrates’ Court.

Knight admitted pulling his partner’s clothing, shaking her and grabbing her arm after both of them had been drinking and arguing on Thursday, November 21.

Now he has been fined £165 with costs of £85 and a victims’ surcharge of £20.

No restraining order was made with magistrates saying Ms Knight could apply to the civil court for an order if that was what she wanted.
