The Arctic Monkeys have been announced as main stage headliners for this year’s Leeds Festival.
The Yorkshire rock indie darlings will join Blink-182, in their only UK shows of 2014, Jake Bugg, Disclosure, Metronomy, Of Mice & Men, Wilkinson and I Am Legion for this summer’s event.
Also on the bill are acts such as Courteeners, The 1975, You Me at Six, Warpaint and Netsky.
Nominated for Best British Band at the upcoming Brit Awards and Best Live Band at the NME Awards, the Arctic Monkeys first performed on one of the Leeds and Reading Festival smaller stages in 2005 prior to the release of debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.
The festival also features a slot from DJ and BBC Radio 1 presenter Annie Mac.
Leeds Festival runs at Bramham Park from August 22 to 24. For tickets, 0871 2310821 or festivalrepublic.com.
