A Fairweather Green resident has warned Bradford Council that its attempts to ban parking on a junction near Crossley Hall Primary School “will not hold any substance in a court of law”.
The Council is planning to add double yellow lines to the junction of Thornton Road and a new road that will access a recently-approved housing estate.
Highways officers say the traffic regulation will improve safety on the road by keeping the sight lines open for drivers.
One resident has objected to the idea, saying there is no evidence cars would park on the junction, and basing traffic regulations on “blanket assumptions” would not stand up in court.
But the Council says allowing cars to park on the junction would cause traffic problems in the area.
The Bradford West area committee will discuss the objection at City Hall at 6pm on Wednesday.
