Youngsters from around the district will be singing their hearts out this weekend.
What is believed to be the county’s first choral performance for primary schools takes place at Bradford Cathedral on Saturday.
The event, involving 92 children ranging in age from five to ten, who attend 20 primary schools in Bradford and Calderdale, starts with a workshop hosted at Hipperholme Grammar School.
The youngsters will learn about singing a range of choral and other music led by Alex Woodrow, the Cathedral’s director of music and Hipperholme Grammar School’s junior school music teacher Joan Zarneh.
The event will culminate with the children participating in the choral performance at the Cathedral in the evening.
Mr Woodrow said: “It has been an incredible response and really shows the energy and interest in choral singing. It is brilliant to expose children and their parents to what we do at the Cathedral and also the work of the Cathedral choir.”
