Everyday objects tucked inside a sack are being used to help bring storybooks to life this half-term.
Libraries across the district hope to introduce children and their parents to the idea of ‘story-sacks’, which collect together props and puppets to help tell a well-known tale.
The use of visual aids that children can touch and feel add a new dimension to storytime, according to library staff.
Over the February half-term the story-sacks will be used at a series of sessions in libraries.
The first session is at Bolling Hall library on Friday, February 21, and the final session is at Manningham Library on Sunday, March 2.
Parents will be encouraged to make their own story-sacks with things that they have at home.
