Action is being demanded to stem a flow of water which is forcing its way through road surfaces at Haworth.
A broken culvert has been cited as a possible reason for the problem in Sun Street and Cold Street. Worth Valley ward councillors are calling on Bradford Council to seek a solution.
“There has been a long-standing problem with water coming up through the road and causing large potholes,” said Councillor Glen Miller, who is also the Council’s Tory group leader.
“This water then flows down the road and in cold weather freezes and becomes very dangerous.”
The Council said it was aware of the issue, which it believed was down to a damaged culvert.
“We are investigating the source and will carry out the necessary work as soon as is possible within our budget priorities,” said a spokesman.
