Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a travel agents today.
Officers were called to Althams Travel, in Yeadon, shortly after 9am after a man armed with a knife went into the shop and demanded cash from the safe.
Detective Sergeant Paul Kravtschuk, of the Proactive Robbery Team, said: “The man left the shop with a large amount of cash in Euros and other currencies, including US, Canadian and Hong Kong dollars, Arab Emirates Dirhams, Mexican Pesos and Swiss Francs.
“He was described as white, aged in his 40s and 6ft to 6ft 2ins tall. He was wearing a green and blue jacket, a green woolly hat under a hood, a green tartan scarf, faded blue jeans and white trainers.
“We would like to hear from anyone who saw a man fitting his description in the area either before or after the robbery.”
No-one was injured during the incident at the premises on High Street.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could help the investigation is asked to contact CID officers at Weetwood Police Station via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
