The two young men from Queensbury who were killed in a crash in Halifax were tonight named by police.
Benjamin Brearcliffe, 20, and Michael Hudson, 19, died when their vehicle hit a lamp-post on Ovenden Road at about 10pm last Friday.
Police said Mr Brearcliffe was driving the VW Golf GTI, while Mr Hudson was a front seat passenger.
A 19-year-old man who was in the back of the car has been treated in hospital for a serious, but non-life threatening, foot injury.
Sergeant Carl Quinn, of West Yorkshire Police's Major Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The red coloured Golf GTI car had been witnessed travelling with a red Vauxhall Astra VXR around Halifax town centre before the collision and we are keen to trace the earlier movements of both vehicles.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 01924 293047 or Crimestoppers, anonymously and in confidence, on 0800 555 111.”
