Teenagers learned important lessons about road safety at a performance by a theatre company.
Pupils at St Bede’s Catholic School in Highgate, Heaton, watched as a story based on real life was acted out by Liverpool-based Tiny Giants Theatre Company.
The performance, called New Wheels, told of two brothers and a female friend, whose car journey ended tragically due to a combination of drink-driving and failure to wear seat belts. It also addressed dangerous driving, driving while under the influence of drugs and driver distraction.
The 30-minute play and follow-up talk was commissioned by Bradford Council’s Road Safety Team to help reduce the number of casualties among vulnerable students.
