A tag rugby event set up to support a Silsden teenager who broke his neck playing rugby will now raise awareness to help others with spinal injuries.
This year’s event will take place from 10am on May 25 at Keighley Rugby Union Football Club.
The fixture originally started to raise funds for the care of Nathan Cubitt, who was badly hurt in November 2011.
However, from now on, as well as raising money for the Nathan Cubitt Trust, the day will be used to collect money for the Matt Hampson Foundation which provides advice, support or treatment for people suffering serious injury or disability while taking part in sport.
Tag rugby day organisers say that for the 2014 event they are hunting for volunteers, dance groups, novice and professional teams, tombola prizes and businesses who could set up stalls.
