A sex attack victim escaped when her attacker was disturbed by a passer by.
The 48-year-old woman was walking to work when she was grabbed from behind by a man and sexually assaulted.
Police believe the fiend was startled by a passing man and she managed to break free and run home.
The incident happened at about 9pm on Friday in Otley Road, Undercliffe, Bradford, at the junction with Barmby Road, near to Undercliffe Cemetery.
The victim was being cared for by specially trained officers on Saturday while police inquiries continued at the scene.
Detective Inspector Stuart Lyons, of Bradford District CID, said: “We are investigating a report of a sexual assault on Otley Road and would like to speak with anyone who saw what took place.
“We are particularly keen to speak to a man reported to be passing by at the time of this incident who might well have disturbed the attacker.
“This man, or anyone who has information, should contact Bradford District CID on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
