A Wharfedale Inn has been honoured with a prestigious silver award from tourism body Visit England.

The Craven Heifer, in Main Street, Addingham, was given the award in recognition of the quality of its accommodation, food, housekeeping, service, and hospitality.

Craig Minto, who took over the running of the inn in 2012, says the Craven Heifer has been remarkably successful in a short space of time.

“Silver awards are given in recognition of exceptional quality within a property's star rating.

“It is a great boost for the team and reflects the hard work and integrity they have been putting into their work since the beginning, along with our commitment to the local community,” he said.

VisitEngland’s head of industry and development Pam Foden, said the inn had moved from a three to four star rating in VisitEngland's Restaurant with Rooms scheme.

She added: “A Silver Award was also achieved this year, recognising the quality of the accommodation and, most particularly, the very good housekeeping, service, hospitality and food.

“We congratulate Craig Minto and his team for all-round quality and customer care and wish them continued success."

Last year, the Craven Heifer received two AA Rosettes for its food, plus four stars for its accommodation.
