A patient will tell health leaders about the importance of being stroke-aware and knowing if they have an irregular heartbeat.
NHS Bradford Districts Clinical Commissioning Group has invited Barbara Edwards to its governing body meeting tomorrow to tell them of her experience of unknowingly having an irregular heartbeat which led to a potentially devastating stroke.
Now on medication for her condition, fibrillation – a form of cardiovascular disease – she is keen for other people to be aware of it and make sure they get the right treatment to help prevent a stroke.
The public meeting will be held at The Rockwell Centre, 6 Summerfield Road, Thorpe Edge, starting at 1.30pm.
