An elderly woman is in hospital with “serious” injuries after a collision with a car in Skipton yesterday morning.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the victim, 91, was hit by a Nissan Micra as she crossed Gargrave Road, at the junction with Belgrave Road, at 9.25am.
She was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.
The road was closed in both directions to allow investigation and reopened at 1pm.
Any witnesses should call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and ask for Dave Clayton, quoting incident number 88. Alternatively, e-mail dave.clayton@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
