A supermarket worker who gave up her locks for charity has handed over the proceeds to the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.
Otley Sainsbury’s employee Kate Hobson raised £1,240 for the fund, which supports Leeds General Infirmary’s children’s heart surgery unit, by having her head shaved in January.
Kate undertook the fundraiser in memory of five-month-old Ella Louise Newson-Smith, the late daughter of her colleague Hannah Reynard and Jamie Newson-Smith who supported her effort.
Her hair has also been put to good use by being donated to The Little Princess Trust, which produces wigs for children who have lost their hair due to hospital treatment.
