Primary school children are reading their way to success.
A total of £5,000 has been spent on reading books for Skipton Parish Church Primary School, using money left to the school by former governor Barbara Barrett.
“Miss Barrett was a foundation governor for a number of years and regularly came into school to help children with their reading,” said literacy leader Catherine Pickles.
“I think Miss Barrett would have been thrilled to know that her legacy is providing children with a lifelong love of reading.”
