Firefighters tackled a blaze in Birstall
Firefighters tackled a blaze in a derelict shop in Birstall yesterday. Crews from Batley station were called to the property on Bradford Road at 12.10pm. A fire service spokesman said an electric meter had caught fire. He added that there was no damage to the building and no-one was injured.
