Two men fearful of being evicted from their flat after their illegal lodger died of a drug overdose dumped his body in a Bradford alleyway, an inquest has heard.

Polish national Marak Grygiel, 33, was eventually discovered by transport workers in a minibus who were taking a short cut between Arncliffe Terrace and Rugby Place, Great Horton.

He had been left in a curled up position at the side of the alley, unresponsive and his face was purple. A paramedic pronounced him dead at the scene.

The inquest in Bradford was told yesterday how his flatmates Robert Alichniewicz and Mical Kiecana had panicked after finding their friend on the bathroom floor surrounded by drugs paraphenelia on April 19 last year.

The men had allowed unemployed Mr Grygiel to stay with them temporarily while he was awaiting the keys to a flat he had been allocated.

The pair had told the police different stories when they were among witnesses interviewed after Mr Grygiel’s body was found.

Assistant Bradford Coroner Tim Ratcliffe concluded Mr Grygiel's death was drugs-related and said it had been “unacceptable” for his body to have been moved.
