SIR – Re ‘Hospital Food Poor’ (Letters, January 27). This judgement has been passed on just an overnight stay which would presumably be evening meal and breakfast. Hardly sufficient data to judge, surely.

I spent four-and-a-half weeks in BRI and had no problem with meals. In fact I was surprised at the choice and variety of the menus, including meals suitable for religious beliefs. I did, however, miss my occasional smoked salmon sandwich which I have when at home, but we can’t have everything, can we?
