Steeton Male Voice Choir’s long-serving accompanist Anne Mott is to retire next summer.
Her importance to the choir was highlighted at the group’s annual meeting.
Spokesman Eric Parker said: “We are extremely fortunate to have Pat Jones to step into her shoes.”
During the meeting the choir honoured its treasurer, Alan Howell, who has retired after 14 years’ service and was presented with a commemorative certificate.
Chairman David Borley said 2013 had been “pretty special”. He said: “The choir is buzzing. We are definitely on a constantly upward improving trend.
