A 26-year-old woman who was dramatically rescued from her blazing home after setting it on fire has been sentenced to a 12-month community order.
Charleen Hall was pulled by neighbours from the building on Thackeray Road, Ravenscliffe, Bradford, on October 11 last year.
She spent almost three months in prison on remand before she was freed to be assessed by staff at a bail hostel.
Hall admitted arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered and was yesterday sentenced by the Recorder of Bradford, Judge Roger Thomas QC.
He told her she had committed a very serious offence.
He said Hall had caused £20,000 damage to the property owned by social housing provider Incommunities.
She must undergo a year’s supervision from the probation service with a medium-level activity requirement and a 90-day residency requirement at the hostel.
