Two lanes of the M62 near Bradford have been closed following a six-vehicle crash tonight.
Four cars, a lorry and a van were in a collision on the westbound carriageway between Chain Bar and Hartshead Moor services at about 5.40pm.
Two people have been taken to hospital but there were no serious injuries, said a spokesman for Cleckheaton fire station.
One motorist told the Telegraph & Argus that two of the cars were “crunched” against the central reservation and that there had been a “huge” emergency response of police, ambulances and the fire service.
A police spokesman said lanes three and four of the carriageway had been closed, with the hard shoulder being used as an extra lane. He said one of the cars involved was a blue Daihatsu.
Drivers have been warned to expect long delays with the Highways Agency reporting that it was taking traffic up to 25 minutes to get past the scene.
