Pupils had a chance to taste what it was like to be a person living in the 19th century.
The ten and 11-year-olds at Sutton C of E Primary school, near Keighley, took part in a Victorian Day and turned up for class dressed for the part.
“They were so enthusiastic and really got into the spirit. Some parents hired the costumes and others made them,” said class teacher Yvonne Smith.
The characters they adopted ranged from little urchins to grand Victorian ladies and gentlemen and throughout the day they had to stick to strict Victorian etiquette.
