A total of 25 burglaries of homes were reported in Keighley between December 9, and January 13,members of Keighley Town Council’s watch and transport committee were told by Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT).

Councillors were told the latest figure represented a “significant decrease” on the same period last year, and members of the public were increasingly passing on information to police about the people responsible.

The committee was also informed that robberies are currently of concern to the police, with five reported in the past six weeks. Sergeant Alex Alderson, of the NPT, also updated the meeting on the ongoing issue of stone theft.
