Tributes have been paid to a “kind and caring” Keighley man who has died suddenly, aged 50. Jason Hargreaves (pictured) was born in Fell Lane, Keighley. He grew up in Haworth, and was living in Kennedy House, Ingrow, at the time of his death.
His mother, Anne Binns, said she understood Jason had suffered a heart attack while he was at home on January 8.
“He used to fill his time by being helpful and caring towards anyone he came across,” she said. “He never had a bad word to say about anyone, and that’s why so many people will miss him. He was a real character.”
She said her son, who was born partially sighted, had been a devoted supporter of Leeds United Football Club for more than 30 years.
At his funeral, his coffin was decked out in the colours of the club, and his family received a card of condolence signed by Leeds players, as well as a letter from Leeds manager Brian McDermott.
