A man wanted for threatening and stealing money from prostitutes in Manchester could now be targeting sex workers in West Yorkshire, police believe.
The man, wanted in connection with the robbery of two women in 2011, has returned to Manchester and a phone number linked to the suspect was used to call a Leeds-based escort service.
The Manchester incidents involved the man meeting women who were working as escorts and agreeing a price for sex.
He handed over cash and, after sex, threatened them and took back the money. In one instance, he held a knife to the woman’s throat.
Detective Constable Natalie McDonald said: “We think this man may be using escort services across the country and there are quite possibly other victims out there and the person responsible is clearly a danger to women.
“I want anyone with information about who he is to call me before any other women are subjected to similar incidents.”
