Councillors in Clayton, Bradford, have reassured residents that action is being taken to curb anti-social behaviour in the village.
A meeting took place between ward councillors and police this week.
People living and working in the area, including butcher John Summers, told the Telegraph & Argus this week of youths throwing dog muck and bottles at people and cars, with problems increasing in recent weeks.
Councillor Carol Thirkhill (Lab, Clayton and Fairweather Green) said: “We are aware that these issues are causing great concern to villagers, and we are working with the police and youth services to find a solution.
“We want to reassure residents that appropriate action will be taken to rectify the problems.”
A police liaison meeting will take place at Clayton Village Hall on Tuesday, February 11, at 6.30pm, to allow any worried residents to air their views.
