Two members of the Bradford Boys’ Brigade have received one of the highest awards their group has to offer.
Joel Carter and Corey Kilshaw, both 15, were presented with the Boys’ Brigade President’s Badge by Bradford-born industrialist Sir James Hill, who is patron of the brigade.
The boys have worked for nine years towards receiving the badge.
A brigade spokesman said: “These young men are leading members of the local Boys’ Brigade. The Boys’ Brigade meets at Thackley Church every Monday evening. Joel helps with the youth group along with Corey who is also known for being a very good musician.”
Gerald Sanderson, president of the Rotary Club of Bradford Blaize, also attended the ceremony. The Rotary supports the brigade by sponsoring a member to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Award Scheme course.
