A faith group has joined forces with community volunteers to plant 600 trees. The Yorkshire branch of the Sant Nirankari Mission in Napier Street, Bradford, teamed up with local volunteers to help Bradford Environmental Action Trust and Forest of Bradford plant trees at Sharp’s Woods, Stoney Ridge, Cottingley. The tree-planting day was held on Saturday as part of a global conservation initiative.
Sant Nirankari Mission volunteer in-charge Mohinder Ram said: “Volunteers as young at six years old helped plant trees in Sharp’s Woods. Ten-year-old helper Rahul Verma said: “If everyone can plant one tree in the world, we can make a global forest to save our planet.”
