A new nutrition learning centre has opened at St Luke’s Hospital, Bradford.
The kitchen and training area is on the ground floor of C block where the CT scanner used to be.
The communal training facility is being shared across the different ‘dietetics’ departments to help train, educate and support patients, carers and health professionals.
Principal dietitian Clare Gelder, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the Nutrition Learning Centre. It gives our service the opportunity to provide nutritional updates to carers and health and social care staff providing education around food provision, teaching nutrition and menu planning.”
More than 400 patients and 45 staff have attended sessions, including on diabetes education and metabolic clinics where children are given the opportunity to trial products that will help their treatment.
