One thousand roses will be given out in Bradford’s City Park today as part of an event that will promote peace, love and harmony.
Mawlid in the Park, which will commemorate the life of the Prophet Muhammad, will be on between 11am and 6pm and will feature stalls, activities for children and exhibitions. A spokesman for the event said: “The aim is to bring members from all faiths together to celebrate the message of peace.”
Among those attending are the Bishop of Bradford, the Rt Rev Nick Baines; Councillor Imran Hussain, the deputy leader of Bradford Council; the Lord Mayor of Bradford Coun Khadim Hussain ; representatives of the Sikh, Hindu and Jewish community; and Muslim scholars from across the UK.
