Children in and around the Woodside area of Bradford have been asked to name two roads that would make up part of a proposed housing development.
The applicants say the reason they are going to school pupils is because previous attempts to engage the community over new street names have fallen flat.
Barnes Homes has submitted a planning application for 47 houses on the former Council-owned land that once contained flats off Eaglesfield Drive.
If approved, the development would see two new roads built and Barnes Homes has asked for schools to suggest names for them, offering the winning school £500 in computer vouchers.
The Heckmondwike-based developer proposes to build 35 three bedroom houses and 12 one bed studio flats.
A similar application for 36 houses on the same site was refused in January 2013.
