A rare chance to buy just over two acres of land for the community is being grasped by a council in a village.
The land off Holme Lane, in Sutton-in-Craven, near Keighley, known as Alvic Field, has a guide price of £10,000 and is due to be sold at an auction in Leeds next month.
And, following a special meeting of the council attended by more than 30 residents, Sutton-in-Craven Parish Council is to put in an offer.
Craven councillor, Ken Hart said the council had decided to go ahead following the approval of the majority of residents.
He said an offer would be submitted by council chairman Neil Whitaker this week ahead of the auction on Wednesday, February 5.
