Council planners have granted permission for an Ilkley bar to extend its opening hours until 1am on weekends, despite concerns about disturbance to people living close by.
Bradford Council planners have agreed to vary planning conditions at The Lister Arms, part of the JD Wetherspoon chain, allowing it to stay open until 1am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Planning conditions previously said the bar could not stay open beyond midnight.
Concerns were raised about noise into the early hours for residents of the nearby Lister Court residential complex, where elderly people live.
Ilkley Parish Council recommended refusal of the application to vary planning conditions, saying the extension of opening hours until 1am was not accaeptable in a residential area.
Ilkley Civic Society also pointed out how close the pub is to Lister Court, and two Ilkley residents objected to the plan, saying it would result in increased noise and disturbance for nearby residents.
But officers said it was not anticipated there would be any significant noise disturbance to Lister Court residents.
