A 54-year-old woman was in hospital with a serious head injury last night after she fell 12ft on to a loading bay at a textile business in Bradford.
The woman, of Bradford, is believed to have fallen from a warehouse floor at M A Amini Textiles at Providence Mills, Harris Street, just outside Bradford city centre at 12.25pm yesterday.
She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where her condition was last night described as stable. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) officers yesterday visited the site to begin making inquiries into the circumstances of the incident.
An HSE spokesman said: “We are aware of the incident and are making inquiries.”
A police cordon and officers could be seen at the site yesterday afternoon.
A sign at the business’ entrance says it is a wholesale cash and carry which sells bedding, quilt covers and quilts.
The Telegraph & Argus was unable to contact anyone at the company last night.
