Performance groups around Bradford East are invited to a drop-in session from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday at Eccleshill Mechanics Institute to look at how the Grade II-listed Victorian building could become a top local venue.
A development plan, supported by Bradford Council’s East Area Co-ordinator’s office, is being drawn up, including improving access to the main hall on the upper floor.
Councillor Geoff Reid (Lib Dem, Eccleshill) said: “The Mechanics Institute is used by hundreds of people every week, who really appreciate what it offers. But we can see that in order to secure a healthy long-term future, we need to make the most of the building and its huge potential.”
