Writing is an adventure for a group of boys at Glusburn Primary School.

They are heading out of classroom in search of exciting experiences worth putting pen to paper for.

The trips will give them fuel for thrilling stories and gripping non-fiction assignments.

Six students have joined the Dangerous Boys’ Writing Club, set up by head Richard Hunt.

He plans to take them around the village, to a wooded area in the school grounds, and to nearby Glusburn Wood.

Mr Hunt said: “It’s to inspire and improve the children’s writing and get them reading. They will ‘live it’ and see things.”

At the end of last term the boys were given a writing journal and talked about the kind of writing they would like to do.

They decided to write letters to their heroes, such as guitarist Slash from rock band Guns ‘n’ Roses or Formula One racing driver Jenson Button.
