Police are hunting a bogus gas official who robbed a couple in their 80s in their Bradford home.
The man called at their house in Madison Avenue claiming he had come to examine the gas fire, shoved them into the kitchen, shutting them in, and stole a wallet containing £45 and a bus pass.
The couple, who were shocked but unhurt, described the robber as white, in his 30s, about 6ft tall and slim.
He had brown hair and was wearing a mauve jacket.
Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg said: “We are urgently appealing for information about this man and believe he may have tried other houses in the area before this incident.”
Anyone with information about the robbery, which occurred at 12.40pm on Wednesday, should contact Bradford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
