A Bradford man extradited from the US to face allegations of child sex abuse dating back 25 years has been charged with eight further historic offences.

Hotel and casino worker Barry Willoughby, 45, appeared at Bradford Crown Court yesterday to face charges relating to a new complainant, who claims she was abused by him when she was aged between 11 and 15.

Willoughby, who had been living in Mississippi until he was returned to the UK last January, pleaded not guilty to seven counts of indecent assault and one of gross indecency with a child, which are alleged to have taken place between 1984 and 1989.

He has already denied three charges of indecently assaulting another girl aged under 14 in 1988 and one allegation of gross indecency with her.

Willoughby spoke only to confirm his name and his not guilty pleas during the hearing. Judge Jonathan Rose ruled the matters should be joined for a trial, which is expected to last ten days and start on Monday, March 3.

His bail, to an address in Mandale Road, Buttershaw, Bradford, was extended until the day of his trial.

The judge told him: “Your trial will take place on March 3 and you will have your bail as before. You must ensure you attend or it will go ahead in your absence.” Willoughby was brought to the UK last January after a warrant for issued over allegations of indecent assault and gross indecency with a girl under the age of 14.
