Police have visited three inner city primary schools, handing out more than a dozen parking tickets, over concerns of parents’ anti-social parking.

Officers and council wardens visited All Saints Primary after residents got in touch complaining of parents’ unsafe parking outside the school.

Thirteen tickets were issued in total by council wardens over the day.

The move followed visits to Horton Grange Primary and Farnham Primary.

They targeted the time when the schools were finishing for the day and children were being collected.

“Verbal advice” was given to a number of drivers and officers dealt with an untaxed vehicle.

A police spokesman warned parents: “Further patrols will be conducted in the area over coming days and weeks, so make sure you think of child safety when driving and parking near primary schools.”
