A man has been warned that custody “is on the cards” for shooting a boy in the eye with a plastic BB gun.
David Russell, 19, of Washington Street, Girlington, Bradford, pleaded guilty to causing the 16-year-old grievous bodily harm in an incident at Bradford City Farm, off Dalton Terrace, in the city’s Whetley Hill area, on April 15 last year.
His denial of the more serious offence of causing grievous bodily harm with intent was accepted by prosecutor Simon Keeley at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.
Russell’s solicitor advocate, Adam Walker, asked for the case to be adjourned until February 6 for the preparation of a report by the probation service.
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC asked for “a full and robust” report.
He reserved the case to himself and gave no indication of sentence, adding that custody was “on the cards”.
Mr Walker said Russell was fully aware that he could face a jail sentence.
