Rumours of a music festival at a country estate near Skipton over the busy Tour de France weekend this summer have been scotched.
The Bolton Abbey Estate has stated no music festival will take place this year after a public meeting in Addingham heard rumours of a 60,000-capacity pop festival planned for early July.
A meeting in the village brought together Bradford Council emergency planning officers and others involved in the visit of the Grand Depart of the Tour de France, with about 160 residents.
Residents raised concerns about road closures and other inconvenience expected to be caused by the race, which will visit Addingham twice – on July 5 and 6.
Villagers were also worried about claims of a pop festival taking place at Bolton Abbey over the weekend.
They feared that the festival could bring massive road congestion and disruption.
