A main road in Scholes, near Wyke, will remain closed to traffic until Friday evening after a pipe burst.
Scholes Lane was shut at 6pm on Tuesday following the burst early in the afternoon.
Yorkshire Water engineers are on site to carry out repairs.
A spokesman said: “We must apologise to any customers who have been inconvenienced as a result of the emergency repairs to a water main in Scholes Lane, Scholes.
“Work is now under way to fix the two bursts and reinstate the road.
“The road has been closed since around 6pm on Tuesday and is expected to reopen on Friday.
“There are two sets of work being carried out. The Foldings Road end of Scholes Lane is completely closed and is anticipated to reopen on Friday morning. At the Halifax Road end of Scholes Lane there are two-way traffic lights which are expected to be removed on Friday afternoon.”
